Right, BMX started out with Euro BB's on minis, a few elite pros, and a whole bunch of cheap Asian crap that had cotter type cranks. What about my 2017/18 PK Ripper Super Elite that has a PF30 BB with a 30mm spindle? I cant find many replacements but hear that this is what the newest race frames are coming with? Hope this helps and if any one needs some more help just PM me or post up a Question. You can use any sealed American BB in a old school bike. Most of these are 20mm and a pain in the butt to find bearings for.Ĥ8 Spline is what most non pinch bolt cranks use. Redline and Eastern used this spindle mostly around 2000-2005 or so. I have never seen anything other than 19mm 8 spline cranks.ġ2 and 16 Spline was short lived. It was popular for a couple years 2010-2013 but most have went back to the Mid bearings because them seem to hold up for longer.Ģ4mm is a really new thing 2014 and is being used by a few companies.Ĩ Spline is the spline most commonly used on pinch bolt Cranks. Spanish is a super small Sealed bearing that is used in some NS Bikes. There is different size spindles but most are 19mm. A 19mm Mid bearing is the same bearing size used on a sealed American BB.Įuro is mostly used in Race frames built from the early 90s till present.Įasy to tell if it is Euro. Will have threads in the bottom Bracket shell. Most of the lower line bikes still use the standard American BB but most Mid Level-Pro Level use Mid. Most Bikes from 2000 up use Mid Bottom Bracket. There is also 20mm Very Rarely used.22mm used more on New School Bike. Most common size on the American BB Spindle is 19mm. Sealed Bearings have a sealed plastic cover and will have an Alloy Cup to install in the BB Shell. Unsealed is where you can see the ball bearings and has a stamped metal race that the bearings ride on. Most BMX Bikes built from 1978-2000 are American Bottom Bracket. Just putting this out there for those to see what will work. I get a ton of PM's and e mails on "what BB do I have" or will this kit work.
